About Encore

Having studied and taught music, and entertained in the Ōtautahi music scene, these talented musicians bring their music to special events.  Each event, is unique and Encore Entertainment works with the client to customise the entertainment to suit the time and themes planned.  The common goal is that the music provided is relevant and engages with people of all ages.

Assembled as two individual cover bands, Black & Gold, and Neon, provide high quality music across the country on a weekly basis,  and occasionally internationally.

 

The bands enjoy weddings and private functions and creating themed events too, like Live Band Karaoke every Thursday at Fat Eddie’s.  With their extensive set lists they can cater to Gatsby Nights, Halloween Specials, Bianco Nights, Christmas, Singalongs or to suit any era 1960s through to the current day, whatever be your interest.

About Elly

Elly Rydge is the lead singer for Black & Gold and the driving force behind Encore Entertainment.

Not only is Elly a seasoned entertainer, she has over a decade of experience working with clients to ensure that their special occasion musically goes off without a hitch.   Preparation is key with sensitivity to unique details for each event.  Elly will discuss options including: size and make up of the band, setlist including genre and special requests, seamless set-up and pack down, realistic expectations of timings with the primary focus of ensuring you get the most music for the time allocated.

  • Dave Cooper

    Our second sound engineer Dave Cooper took time away from his audio engineering masters degree to help us with the final touches on our band tracks. A lot of songs came out of the recording space and it was great to have his expertise apart of this project.

  • 921 Studio

    This is the best space in the city to create a professional look while also having room to create contrasting looks. The team are really encouraging and welcoming and there’s ample space to make the day your own. The tunes in the background really help you ‘feel yourself’ and enjoy the shooting process.

  • The Piano

    We filmed our footage for the website at The Piano in the Chamber Room. This was a full day event where we brought in all our equipment and set up two recording spaces. Georgia in administration was really helpful and we were allowed use additional studio rooms for costume changes.
